Cat Boarding Near Wrentham, MA
Weekend getaway, family vacation or holiday travel, Wrentham cat owners can count on Kitty Cottage in neighboring Franklin for calm, cats-only boarding while they're away, about ten minutes from home.

Vacation, Weekend and Holiday Boarding for Wrentham Cats
Wrentham families travel for all kinds of reasons: a long weekend on the Cape, a February school vacation, a summer road trip or a holiday visit with relatives. Whatever the trip, your cat needs a safe, comfortable place to stay while you're gone.
Kitty Cottage is a family-owned, cats-only boarding facility at 140 Wachusett Street in Franklin, just over the town line from Wrentham. Most families reach us in about ten minutes by Route 140 or Route 1A, which makes drop-off easy even on a busy travel morning.
Because we care for cats only, the cottage stays quiet throughout the day. There are no dogs, no barking and no shared spaces, just private condos and caregivers who understand how cats think and behave.

No two trips are the same, and your cat's stay doesn't need to be either. We welcome Wrentham cats for short and long stays alike.
- Overnight and weekend trips, with a two-day minimum stay
- Week-long vacations and school break travel
- Holiday stays around Thanksgiving, December and New Year's
- Extended stays of 21 days or more at a discounted rate

Plan Your Boarding Dates Early
Holidays, school vacations and summer weekends are our busiest times of year, and condos can fill up quickly. Wrentham families who know their travel dates should reach out as early as possible to request a stay. If your plans are still taking shape, it's fine to call and ask about availability before you book flights.
When you contact us, have your check-in and check-out dates ready, along with the number of cats and any care needs. A caregiver will confirm availability and schedule your check-in appointment. Stays of 21 days or more require a 50% deposit. Current pricing for one, two or three cats is listed on our Rates page.
How Check-In Works at Kitty Cottage
Our Office Hours
Check-in and check-out are by appointment only. This keeps our lobby calm and gives every cat an unhurried welcome. During check-in, a caregiver will walk through your cat's routine with you, including feeding instructions, medications, favorite toys and any quirks we should know about.
Please bring your cat in a secure carrier, along with their food and any medication in its original packaging. You are welcome to bring a blanket, bed or toy that smells like home. Our New Guest Information page has a full checklist, and our Health & Safety page covers our health requirements.
- Monday through Friday: 9:30 am to 6:30 pm
- Saturday: 9:30 am to 6:00 pm
- Sunday: 11:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Keeping Cats Comfortable With Familiar Routines
Cats feel safest when their days are predictable. That's why we ask about your cat's habits at home and follow them as closely as we can. If your cat eats breakfast at 7 am, prefers wet food in the evening or likes a quiet corner after meals, we'll build their day around it.
Each guest stays in a private multi-level condo with space to climb, rest and look around. Condos are cleaned daily, and cats from the same household can share a condo or stay side by side. See inside on our Accommodations page.

Individual Care and Enrichment During Longer Stays
A week or two away from home is a long time for a cat, and longer stays call for more than food and a clean litter box. At Kitty Cottage, each cat receives individual attention every day, and caregivers adjust that attention to suit each personality.
Outgoing cats enjoy wand toys, chase games and climbing time. Shy cats may prefer quiet company, gentle brushing or simply having a caregiver sit nearby. Over a longer stay we get to know each guest's preferences and adapt their daily routine so they stay relaxed, active and engaged.
Caregivers also keep a close eye on appetite, litter habits, grooming and energy levels. These small daily checks help us notice changes early, which is especially important during extended stays. If anything seems unusual, we'll reach out to you right away.
- Daily playtime and one-on-one attention
- Window views and climbing space for natural stimulation
- Brushing and gentle handling for cats who enjoy it
- Daily monitoring of eating, litter and behavior
- Medication administration for cats who need it
Why Wrentham Families Choose Kitty Cottage for Travel
Being just over the town line means Wrentham families can fit drop-off into almost any travel plan, whether you're leaving for a quick overnight trip or a two-week vacation. Our cats-only cottage gives your cat a calm, consistent place to stay, and our family-owned team keeps communication personal. Many Wrentham guests come back every holiday season, and we look forward to seeing familiar faces each year. If you have questions about a specific trip, a caregiver is always happy to talk it through by phone or email.

Tips for a Smooth Drop-Off Before Your Trip
Travel days are busy, so a little planning makes drop-off easier for everyone. Schedule your check-in appointment a day before you leave, or early on the morning of departure, so you aren't rushing. Pack your cat's food and medications the night before, and set the carrier out a few days early so your cat can get used to it.
Keep goodbyes calm and brief. Cats pick up on our moods, and a relaxed handoff helps them settle faster. Once your cat is in their condo, a caregiver will give them time to explore, sniff and find a favorite resting spot.

Coming Home After a Long Vacation
Pickup is by appointment, just like check-in, so you can plan it around your return flight or drive home. When you arrive, a caregiver will share how your cat ate, played and rested during their stay.
Once home, give your cat a quiet space and a little time to readjust. Most cats return to their normal routines quickly, especially when their meals and schedule stayed the same while you were away.
